Our club joined the District 7080 on April 22, 2018 to plant over 4,000 trees on Earth Day weekend. The warm Sunday saw a bunch of enthused Rotarians surpass an original target of planting 1,700 trees to make a clear statement about how important it is for us to take charge of our environment. Rotarians, families, communities and dignitaries came together to respond to Rotary International President Ian Riseley's call to plant one tree per Rotarian throughout the world.
District Governor Kathy Dick, District Governor Nominee Lesley Barmania, Timothy White, and Assistant District Governor Jan Gerrard joined fellow Rotarians for the cause. Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie welcomed all Rotarians and congratulated them on their role to help the City of Mississauga make the community more livable.
